Information for Macintosh UsersDocuRights works on any Power Macintosh, G3, G4 or G5 with Mac OS 8.5 or later.Information for Linux UsersSupport for Linux/Unix is presently unavailable. The download page just doesn't workThe download page requires the use of JavaScript. If you have high security enabled, or you have turned off JavaScript support, then you will need to turn it on before downloading a document. If the page still does not work, please contact our customer service by using the form below. What is supposed to happen after I download a document? After the document is downloaded to your computer, you may need to open the document manually by running Adobe Acrobat Reader and then selecting Open from the File Menu.If you have not downloaded DocuRights yet, Adobe Acrobat Reader will display a single page that has a link on it that reads: Click Here. This link is provided to you so that you can easily download and install the software that your computer needs to read documents that are secured with DocuRights. If the link does not work for some reason, the web page address that you need to go to is directly below it. After DocuRights is installed, the PDF will open automatically, and this time instead of seeing the Click Here screen, a web browser window will open and allow you to register. After you register, a program opens that installs your registration information, and then the web browser appears again so that you can purchase access to the document. You only need to download DocuRights and register once. After that, downloading and purchasing a document is a very quick process. Why did I get an FDF file instead of a PDF file? When you download the file, the FDF file extension assures that the file opens in an Acrobat window outside of your Web browser. Often, a PDF cannot be successfully opened from within a Web browser window. An FDF file is the same as a PDF file, and can be opened by Acrobat. If you wish, after you receive the file, you can change the file extension to PDF.I can't find the file I downloaded!First, see if the file is located somewhere on your Desktop - DocuRights tries to put the file where you can find it. If the file is not on your Desktop, then when you Download your PDF (Windows users), you'll be prompted to Open or Save the file. Resist the temptation to immediately open it - Windows may carefully hide it somewhere where you won't find it! Instead, Save the file to a known location on your computer, then Open the file after the download completes (you'll be prompted again to open the file). Can I preview the document for free before I purchase it?Absolutely! Just click on the Free Preview button when you see it.When will I be charged?DocuRights is a bit different from other document delivery services. With DocuRights, you download the document first, and pay for it when you open it up. This ensures that you have a copy of the document on your computer before you pay, so that you can use the document immediately after you pay.Can I open this document more than once? You can open your purchased documents on your computer as many times as you want for as long as you own the computer, subject to the publisher's granted rights. Some publishers may restrict the number of times an article can be viewed on-screen or printed on paper, for example.Do documents expire? No, document access does not expire with DocuRights. Some publishers may restrict the number of times an article can be viewed on-screen or printed on paper, however. How do I open a document that I purchased on a different computer? This is an excellent question! DocuRights is one of the few digital rights management systems that allows you, the consumer, to use the document fairly on more than one computer for your own personal use.If you decide to move to another computer, or want to use your documents on more than one computer at a time, DocuRights will make sure you have access to your document. All you need to do is download the DocuRights software, install it, and go through the registration process on each computer where you want to use your documents. During the registration process on the additional computer(s), select "Find my Account" and enter your information. Once DocuRights locates your account and you open your document on the second or subsequent computer(s), you will see a progress message stating, "Synchronizing access rights with other computers." The document will then open automatically. The publisher restricts the number of fair-use copies you can make for yourself. The typical number most publishers grant is three (3).
